What does Crista Galli mean?

We have often been asked about the practice name Crista Galli. The term comes from the Latin for the crest on the top of a cockerel’s head.

Anatomically it refers to a small ridge of bone that projects from the top of the ethmoid (a delicate bone just between the eyes), and forms the attachment for the falx-cerebri an important connection in the proper dynamic functioning of the cranium.
